Chandra Pitts, Founder and Executive Director of One Village Alliance located in Wilmington, Delaware is a virtual renaissance woman. Pitts has led the development of local and national initiatives designed to empower children and families for nearly 15 years. On this note, BMORENEWS is pleased to announce that Pitts will serve as the emcee for The BMORENEWS Global Forum on Women's Empowerment on Friday, June 15th at the United Nations in New York City. Pitts last emceed for BMORENEWS.com and Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc. at the Black Capital Awards in Washington, DC on April 11, 2011.

Pitts made the decision to share this experience with three extraordinary Delaware youth who will accompany her for the amazing experience. All three are participants in One Village Alliance’s recently launched “Girls Can Do Anything!” initiative. Youth attendees who will join Pitts for this day long United Nation’s visit include:

Caitlyn Resto, 14-year old kidpreneur who successfully launched her own cupcake business at age 12 and donates a portion of her proceeds to local nonprofit organizations. A Delaware native Resto is a freshman at Fairwinds Christian School. Caitlyn is very active in her school and community. She is very committed to school work and currently maintains a 3.6 GPA. Caitlyn has been involved in girl scouts for over 7 years where she volunteers and serves in her community.

Amber Rouse, 13 year old spokesperson for the American Lung Association who has shared her research based information on how to prevent asthma in a filmed documentary at just 10 years old. Amber also serves the Junior Achievement Board of Directors in a youth advisory capacity and volunteers for the Delaware Art Museum.

Jahlihl C. Coleman, 15 year old freshman at Sanford and Panelist for the “Girls Can do Anything!” Conversation with Boys. Jahlihl has been a Youth Leader and Volunteer with the Marian Hinson Home Life Management Center and One Village Alliance since he was just 10 years old. In 2009 he participated in an international school supplies drive where he visited 5 youth centers and schools throughout Jamaica providing learning supplies to underprivileged youth throughout the country.

Chandra’s life-long dedication to uplifting youth and families leads her to share the stage with some of the most influential women from around the world during this week’s Global Forum on Women's Empowerment. Pitts further takes this opportunity to prove to the youth of Delaware once again that “Girls Can Do Anything!”
