One Village Alliance has meaningful leadership and internship opportunities for highly motivated, talented and energetic students and professionals to become part of our dynamic team! 

Each summer OVA incorporates cultural diversity, social  justice activism and enrichment fun to take historically marginalized, youth from low-income families on a journey "Around the World in a Summer!". Our goal is to create a rich, summer camp experience to children whose families may otherwise not be able to afford it. OVA connects campers with global partners and world travelers to provide a rich mix of literacy instruction, storytelling, outings and activities offering an exhilarating exploration of world cultures through:

One Village Alliance is comprised of a culturally competent team of individuals and decision makers who are uniquely qualified to effectively reach youth and families experiencing such challenges as unemployment, unstable homes, abuse and academic struggles. We engage volunteers, staff, board members, and partners from the community we serve who not only bring proven methods and expertise, but also have themselves, overcome many of the same challenges faced by our youth and families.

Position Title:
Administrative Assistant

Summary of Position 
One of the most critical members of the agency's Executive Leadership Team, the Administrative
Assistant coordinates and manages all office procedures and provides vital support for all agency programs, activities and events. We are looking for a flexible, highly organized team player who will develop strong working relationships with the entire One Village Alliance community.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• At least two (2) years experience
• Valid Driver’s License w/reliable transportation

• Professional maturity and work ethic

• Extremely detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines

Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Excellent writing and grammatical skills (i.e. for generating and editing memos)
• Ability and willingness to learn new software tools and applications

• Exceptional customer service skills in person, over the phone and virtually

• Positive attitude and flexible in ever-changing environment

• Ability to work independently

Position Title:
Summer Camp Lead

(Salem, NJ or Wilmington, DE)

Summary of Position 
Our 7 week summer camp for children ages 7-13 is seeking an energetic, accountable Youth Ambassador Lead to provide a safe and memorable experience for our campers. The Youth Ambassador Lead is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing cultural and enrichment lessons and experiences for children as well as the general safety, development, growth, and skill achievement of summer camp participants. Duties include daily lesson planning and implementation, classroom management, coordinating trips and activities, monitoring meals, overseeing transitions to and from scheduled events and lessons, and facilitating literacy and cultural fun. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader with a genuine passion for working with and empowering young people. Applicants should be patient, organized and confident in their ability to motivate and lead campers, interns and volunteers on an exhilarating journey “Around the World in a Summer”!

Minimum Qualifications:
• 2 yrs experience in classroom management, direct teaching and lesson planning (age 6-13)
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Clean criminal history acceptable for working with children by State/Federal law

Desired Qualifications:
• Teacher Certification
• Experience working effectively to improve student academic achievement
• Creativity, integrity, patience, and flexibility

Position Title:
Director of Growth & Expansion

Summary of Position 
The successful candidate for this position is an experienced non-profit leader with a diverse set of operations management skills. The Director of Growth & Expansion will develop, lead, and implement strategies for business development to expand existing outcomes; identify and cultivate new opportunities and relationships; and facilitate growth trajectory in a manner consistent with agency mission; metrics and projected outcomes. Extensive organizational management, planning, and community engagement required.

Position Title:
Youth Ambassador Intern 

(Salem, NJ or Wilmington, DE)

Summary of Position
This is a hands on leadership role working directly with uniquely qualified educators learning how to develop creative curriculum, foster academic achievement and improve student performance by demonstrating and directly teaching concepts and lessons which reinforce the mastery of key standards through literacy, arts and highly engaging fun! Interns work under the direct leadership of uniquely qualified educators

Minimum Qualifications:
• Advanced Maturity (Age 16+)  
• High energy to work with youth 
• Commitment to adhere to program policies and procedures
• Clean criminal history acceptable for working with children by State/Federal law

Desired Qualifications:
• Youth Program/Classroom Management Experience
• Experience working effectively to improve student academic achievement

• Exhibits integrity, patience, and flexibility

Position Title:
Youth Leader

(Salem, NJ or Wilmington, DE)

Summary of Position
Don't leave your teens with nothing productive to engage in over the summer! Join OVA's Leadership Academy free for 6 teens over the summer! Youth age 14-18 learn leadership, planning, discipline, work ethic and success skills working directly with uniquely qualified professionals. Passionate about working with youth?? Lead hands on this summer teaching concepts and lessons which reinforce the mastery of key standards through literacy, arts and highly engaging fun! Youth work under the direct leadership of OVA Director of Education, Heather Townsend, Ed. D.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Youth Age 14+  
• Commitment to adhere to program policies and procedures
• Clean criminal history acceptable for working with children by State/Federal law

Desired Qualifications:
• Prompt Attendance
• High energy personality with leadership qualities

• Exhibits discipline, integrity, patience, and flexibility
