22News reported on the grand opening of the Freedom Center.

"One Village Alliance joined forces with Mother UAME Church to create The Freedom Center, a social justice ecosystem providing a hub for vital connections to resources. Wilmington City Council President Ernest "Trippi" Congo, United States Senator from Delaware Chris Coons, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer, community leaders and Wilmington residents joined together in welcoming the new center on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. The community helped make the new space beautiful through art, painting walls, maintaining the landscape, creating chalk messages of peace, and helping with exterior cleanup.
